Alternatives to paid advertising
Most of the print media advertising is paid for directly or indirectly. There are several methods that you can use to get your message across at minimal cost. These methods include; use of brochures, flyers, posters, gifts, shopping bags, umbrellas and clothing. These methods only involve little money to print the advertising goods; then you can either sell or give them away as gifts.
In some cases you can substitute television station advertising with live performances or road shows which are targeted to people who are perceived to be potential buyers. Compared to the costs involved in TV advertising these are cheaper and specific. The road procession includes entertainment on top of the advertising. Also free samples or discounted selling; where you buy one and get one free.
The advertising agency can also organize events where different complementing activities and goods are brought together. The attendants can be charged a small fee or be allowed free entry. In free entry the cost of organizing can be met either by sponsors or the sales made at the event. Here the above mention goods can also be offered for sale.
Despite being in competition the advertising agencies can also come together and organize a mega event. This will radically reduce the cost of the event but give a very big impact on the intended group. The cost is reduced by the shared costs and the big number that attends offer a bigger market for the goods presented.
